After the success of their reunion after 35yrs, Harrogate’s most successful rock band, Wally, return to The Royal Hall with a new show. Along with their classic tracks, including ‘Sunday Walking Lady’ and ‘To The Urban Man’, they will be performing their new album live for the very first time.
Wally’s first two albums on Atlantic records ‘Wally’ (1974) and ‘Valley Gardens’ (1975) were both produced by Bob Harris and Rick Wakeman. A string of singles included ‘The Martyr’, ‘I Just Wanna Be A Cowboy’ and the amazing ‘Nez Perce’ with Madeline Bell on backing vocals, once Johnnie Walker’s record of the week. The band also made appearances on legendary TV show, The Old Grey Whistle Test.
The new tracks retain the sound and spirit of the original 1970s band, with that added dimension that comes with maturity, and reflects enough of the changes in music to ensure that the sound of the album is current, whilst retaining the unique wall of sound that is Wally.
This is undoubtedly Wally at their finest.
